Telecommunication and Networking lesson 4

Hi everyone ! I am here again after two weeks :) We get our Quiz 1 :) thanks to Allah... and non-stop continue to learn more about Telecommunication and Networking. Our fourth lesson topics are :

1-Topology
2-protocol
3-Architecture

Topology

What is topology in Networking  ?

    to·pol·o·gy
    noun /təˈpäləjē/
    topologies, plural

      1. The way in which constituent parts are interrelated or arranged

      • - the topology of a computer network

# The way how computer connect each other is called topology of network.

There are Bus network, star network, ring network and

hybrid network.

Before our lesson i was confusing on hybrid topology. I think

this picture is clear to understand about hybrid topology. it

consist bus and star topology.

protocol

network protocol defines rules and conventions for communication between network devices. for example

  • Ethernet-  The Ethernet protocol is by far the most
  • widely used. Also  it allows for linear bus, star, or tree topologies. Data can be transmitted over wireless access points, twisted pair, coaxial, or fiber optic cable.
  • Local Talk-  allows for linear bus, star, or tree topologies using twisted pair cable
  • Token Ring- The Token Ring protocol requires a star-wired ring using twisted pair or fiber optic cable
  • FDDI- used primarily to interconnect two or more local area networks, often over large distances
  • ATM- most often used to interconnect two or more local area networks

Architecture

This video for network Architecture :)
