Telecommunication and Networking lesson 8

Hi everybody !  today i am here for my last lecture posting... :((We finished our last lecture with Dr.Dayang. If I look the back our classes was really interesting and meaningful for me. Actually I am not good in technology area even I am the last person who get the technology news among my friends. however with our kindly lecturer (dr. Dayang) i start to interest and like to know about telecommunication, computer etc. I want to send my regards and thanks to her via this blog posting...May Allah bless her every time InsAllah...

Let's turnback our last topic;

What is internet ?

In our dairy life we always use internet for chatting, playing games, searching data, online baking or job etc. but do we know how we connecting to internet?

Internet is a global network connecting millions of computer using a common set of communications protocols called TCP/IP. During 1969 only four interconnected conputers could share internet but now nobody knows how naby computers and network actually make up internet connecting.

Internet protocol  ( IP )

it is the internet standard protocol and used to move packets among host computers and through gateways if necessary. each computer connected to each other with an IP address. An IP address consists of 32 bits, often shown as 4 octet of numbers from 0-255 represented in decimal form instead of binary form for example;

IP address;       168.212.226.204

in binary form ; 10101000.110101000.11100010.11001100

but we use decimals to represent the IP because it is easy to remember if we compare with binary form.

An IP address consists two parts.
1-identifying the network
2-identifying the node or host.

There are 5 types of netwok class respectively from A to E class.

This two picture will make it more understandable;

Domain Name System ( DNS)

as I stade before we use domain name for short and easy form of IP(204.62.131.129) like www.utmzehraaltinsppl.blogspot.com
We use DNS because domain names are alphabetic and easy to remember if we compare with IP.

Internet Service Provider ( ISP )

Short for HyperText Transfer Protocol, the underlying protocol used by theWorld Wide Web
 HTTP defines how messages are formatted and transmitted, and what actions Web service and browser should take in response to various commands. For example, when you enter a URL in your browser, this actually sends an HTTP command to the Web server directing it to fetch and transmit the requested Web page.
